Who's winning?

The battle of the name droppers....

Obama and Oprah are like siblings... twins even...like the Olson twins...life is fun for them...

Hillary has Barbara... somehow that seems appropriate... they're both mostly cold and distant and ruthless when crossed.

And now Tim Robbins is riding the bus with John Edwards...I think they are probably lovers... They are appropriate together simply because no one cares about either of them. Tim admitted that he is no Oprah. I think he figured that out when he was turned down for the role of Sophia.

Anyway, as the top 3 candidates strive to differentiate themselves by doing exactly what the other candidates are doing, only with different celebrities, I start to drift off into that hopeless area where I want to sit on a street corner, rock back and forth and sing quietly to myself. Something happy and uplifting I'm sure...something from the Sound of Music I think. Or maybe "Somewhere over the Rainbow".

Hillary says Barack is too new and therefore lacks experience. Well what about Oprah then? She's been around the block a while.

Barack responds that there are some pretty experienced people in The White House now and it doesn't seem to have helped them make good decisions. And no one can really argue with that. Besides, Barack has Oprah on his side. That was probably a good decision knowing that getting your book on Oprah's Book Club can mean millions. And he did write a book after all.

Edwards says Hillary is a war monger and makes bad decisions because she signed on to allow Bush to attack a country that didn't attack us. Barack says that too.

Hillary is endorsed by evil also. So far Rupert Murdoch is supporting her with money and Satan is her spiritual support.

Here's where she stands overall in the fundraising picture

  • #2 - 1,600,000 Education

  • #1 - 567,000 from Lobbyists

  • #1 - 269,000 Pharmaceuticals/Health Products

  • #3 - 220,000 Oil and Gas(#1 of Democrats)

For Contrast, heres' Barack;

  • #1 - 2,000,000 Education

  • #9 - 76,859 Lobbyists

  • #7 - 106,000 Oil and Gas

  • #2 - 261,000 Pharmaceuticals

So for the evil meter they are actually pretty close in dollars bribed. Except for the Lobbyists portion but we don't know if those are good lobbyists or bad lobbyists and unless a house falls on them we may never be sure, so we'll leave that small 10x difference slide for now.

And then there is the untainted (read loser), Dennis.

  • #12 - 37,000 Education

  • #999 - 0 Lobbyists (Apparently can't be bribed)

  • #17 - 700 Oil and Gas (won't even fill the tank for the year

  • #13 - 5100 Pharmaceutical

So there you have it. With Dennis I'm thinking about the chicken and the egg thing. You know, is he losing because he's an upstanding moral politician untainted by the money in politics or is he untainted by the money in politics because he's losing. It makes my brain hurt.

Anyway, I'll probably ride the peace train with him next weekend so I can ask him what his take is on that.

As for the race in general, in my mind I'm back on the street corner again. I'm rocking back and forth and wondering why people can't see it as clearly as I do. Its all for nothing. Oil will win and Oil is supporting Guiliani, so I'm keeping my money in my pocket.

So the whole thing to me now is a blah, blah, blah waste of time. Pretty soon your mind just shuts it all out and you vote for the best looking one because you know they are all corrupt and you also know you're going to have to listen to their political vomit for 4 to 8 years so if you decide to mute them then you can at least have something nice to look at.

So my prediction is that Hillary wins the Democratic side and Giuliani wins the whole enchilada. Of course with those two in the running, oil has stacked the deck. Of course they would rather have Guiliani because he will keep focused on their interests and more wars for profit after the next staged terrorist attack. Most likely a nuke in our country, and they'll most likely blame it on Osama again. Why go looking for new villains when they've got that one still out there. Besides, should Obama decide to run again in 2012, they'll be able to play their name conflation game again. Osama, Obama, Osama, Obama.......
